Our client is a municipal department in the Milwaukee area. This company is currently interviewing qualified candidates to join their team as a Leasing Contract Specialist.
The Leasing Contract Specialist will be responsible for performing tasks related to providing housing assistance to the public. This individual will execute rental contracts and/or leases, providing assistance to applicants, staff, and others, and reviewing eligibility for housing programs.
Responsibilities:
- Executes rental contracts and/or leases, including conducting research related to rental rates.
- Preparing rent increases.
- Negotiating rent amounts with property agents.
- Obtaining proper signatures for contracts or leases.
- Monitoring contracts and leases to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Processing requests for lease approval.
- Providing assistance to applicants, staff, and others, including explaining program eligibility. Requirements to tenants and property owners; assisting individuals in resolving program application issues.
- Providing guidance to staff in performing program tasks.
- Assisting property owners in interpreting rental contracts and/or providing information related to program rules and regulations.
- Negotiating rent and executing leases and contracts.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Proficiency with principles and practices of setting rent amounts.
- Independent Judgment/Decision Making/Problem Solving.
- Ability to conduct negotiations and interpret rental contracts.
- Monitoring contracts and leases for compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
- Strong Interpersonal Communication skills.
