The Ocean Export Coordinator is responsible for managing the export and movement of cargo for clients, ensuring all processes comply with company and industry standards. Responsibilities include booking shipments, preparing export documentation, tracking shipments, and providing customer support.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the export and movement of cargo for clients, including booking and managing shipments.
- Prepare required export documentation, including Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, and Service Reports.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry quality assurance standards.
- Perform AES filings and manage denied party screenings and ECCN classifications.
- Track shipments and communicate shipment details and status updates to customers.
- Enter shipment data and updates into CargoWise.
- Issue detailed customer reporting as requested.
- Bill services accurately to customers.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, agents, and government agencies to facilitate exports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; basic Excel skills required.
- Previous experience with CargoWise preferred.
- Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms, UCP600, and Incoterms preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of accounting functions related to export services preferred.
