Are you passionate about baking and creating a welcoming atmosphere? Our client, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs, is seeking a Pastry Chef to join their vibrant café and bakery team.
About the Role: As the Pastry Chef, you will join a talented team of bakers and work closely with individuals with special needs, providing mentorship and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Baking Excellence: Produce a variety of high-quality bakery products by following established recipes and standard operating procedures to meet daily production needs.
- Quality Control: Ensure consistent product quality and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Safety First: Uphold a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Team Engagement: Attend team meetings, actively participate, and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Continuous Learning: Stay open to growth and development, supporting your colleagues along the way.
- Mentorship: Work alongside and mentor team members with special needs, helping them thrive in their roles.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior Pastry Experience: Proven background in baking and pastry production.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive demeanor, especially during busy times.
- Problem Solver: Approach challenges with a “can do” mentality.
- Physical Demands: Ability to frequently stoop, bend, stand, reach, kneel, and lift/carry objects weighing 15 to 100 lbs. Comfort in working in a hot environment and near heated surfaces.
Hours for this role are 5:00am to 1:00pm.
Pay Rate: $19-24/hr. depending on experience.
