Exciting opportunity to join an iconic American manufacturer! Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the chance to lead strategic initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and drive performance within the Supply Management department.

As the Senior Global Category Manager, you will provide strategic and tactical direction for a Supply Management category team, ensuring the achievement of departmental goals and objectives. You will lead and develop a team, champion key strategic supplier contracts, and drive cross-business synergies.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion and manage key strategic supplier contracts, ensuring commercial performance and fostering strong relationships.
  • Review, approve, monitor, and report compliance to category agreements and strategies in alignment with the Supply Management policies.
  • Present new planning tools, methods, and procurement opportunities aligned with strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives to senior management.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute annual value propositions for owned spend, supporting execution with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead Supplier Business Reviews with assigned suppliers, identifying and mitigating potential financial and operational threats.
  • Manage and provide guidance to employees within the Supply Management department, ensuring their performance aligns with departmental plans and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Negotiation, and Product Development.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a Supply Management department and staff members in support of business goals.
  • Expertise in leading groups to prioritize objectives and reach consensus.
  • Professional negotiating experience in a global business environment.
  • Experience improving supplier performance across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Advanced Product and Quality Planning (APQP) and Continuous Improvement (CI) experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
