They are seeking an experienced Technology and Architectural Low Voltage Systems Designer to join their team in Madison or Milwaukee, WI.

This role offers the opportunity to design and coordinate cutting-edge telecommunications and low voltage building systems, working from concept to completion alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, and coordinate the integration of low voltage systems into construction documents for contractor bidding and installation.
  • Design systems such as telecommunications (copper, fiber, backbone, and IT room provisioning), fire alarm, access control, CCTV, nurse call, infant protection, distributed antenna, and more.
  • Collaborate with clients to address project needs and maintain effective communication throughout the design and construction process.
  • Research and apply codes and standards to guide design decisions, select materials and equipment, and develop detailed specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive construction documents aligned with client requirements.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure project consistency.
  • Review product submittal drawings, recommend modifications, and manage change orders as needed.
  • Conduct site surveys, field observations, and generate project reports.
  • Mentor team members, assign tasks to designers and BIM technicians, and ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of drafting and engineering design experience; a degree in architectural or electrical engineering preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • RCDD certification preferred but not required.
